Nathanaël Carré was born in 1989 in France. Lyon, Paris and Freiburg are the cities where Nathanaël got his musical instruction with renowned professors. The flutists Mihi Kim, Felix Renggli, Davide Formisano and the pianist and musicologist Tibor Szasz, helped him to develop his musical interpretation and flutistic skills. He also studied conducting in Stuttgart with Christof Löser.
Nathanaël has been successful in many national and international competitions, among others : several times 1st Prize at the Clé d’Or competition in Lyon both in piano and flute, 1st Prize and ‘Best performance of a contemporary work’ at the Jeunes Espoirs Competition, 2nd Prize at the “Domenico Cimarosa” International Flute Competition in Italia, and the 1st Prize “Carl Seemann” in Freiburg, Germany.
In 2012, during his studies in Freiburg, Nathanaël Carré obtained – as he was 22- his current position of Principal Flute in the Stuttgart State Opera Orchestra.
He performed several times as soloist the Concerto in d-minor of C.P.E.Bach and the Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp with the Stuttgart State Opera Orchestra.
