Anna Winter started her musical education at her local music school at the age of 7. In 2013 she won the youth competition “Prima la musica” accompanied by her brother on the guitar.

After that she transferred to the J.J. Fux Conservatoire in Graz. Additionally, she also passed the entrance exam at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz at the age of 14 and continued her pre-studies there. Prima la musica awards followed in the Categorys “Flute Solo” as well as “Chamber Music”. She played multiple Solo Concertos including the J.S. Bach b minor Suite as well as W.A. Mozart Concerto in C for Flute and Harp.

Since 2020 Anna is studying in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts in the Class of Prof. Wally Hase. Furthermore, she deepened her abilities on the Piccolo with Renate Linortner (Volksoper Wien) and Peter Verhoyen (Antwerp Symphony Orchestra). She fell in love with baroque music and has been studying Traverso with Gertraud Wimmer.

Anna has been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) 2024 and the summer academy of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra 2023. In addition, she was also a part of the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra twice 2021 and 2022, of the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra and the newly found Alma Mahler Philharmonie in Vienna where she met some friends for life. She got the opportunity to play with the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, in the Volksoper Wien, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and recreation – großes Orchester Graz in numerous productions and concerts.

Anna has won the 1. Price at Tampere – International Flute Fest Piccolo Orchestral Competition 2021, the 3. Price at Dutch International Flute Competition 2021. In 2023 she was a semifinalist at the 9th International Flute Competition Krakow as well as a Semifinalist at the Tampere Young Artist Competiton 2024. She participated in masterclasses by Karlheinz Schütz, Andrea Lieberknecht, Emily Beynon, Felix Renggli, Mario Caroli, Erwin Klambauer, Pirmin Grehl and Magali Mosnier.

Anna is a big nature lover and enjoys reading, running and being barefoot.
