Chloë Ellen Jones

 

Chloë Ellen Jones was born in Merseyside in 2000 and attends Merchant Taylors’ Girls School in Crosby, Liverpool. Chloë has been playing the flute since 2007 and has studied at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester under the guidance of Jonathan Rimmer since 2013 and with Michael Cox in London since 2017.

In February 2016 Chloë was awarded first prize at the British Flute Society Class B section for 14-18 year olds after previously winning the BFS School Performer Class A in February 2014. As the 2016 winner, she was invited to perform at the BFS Annual Convention in August 2016.

Chloë is Principal flute at the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, the JRNCM Symphony Orchestra and the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Chloë has performed several concertos, most recently with the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra; in April 2017 and again in 2018 Chloë won the woodwind section at the Gregynog Young Musician of the Year and regularly gets invited to perform in competitions and recitals and chamber music concerts across the UK.

Chloë completed her ABRSM Diploma with distinction in December 2014 and gained a high distinction in her LRSM Diploma in December 2016. She is a proud Galway Academy student, regularly attending Masterclasses with Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway in Switzerland and the UK.

She has performed at The Houses of Parliament, Sage Gateshead, Cadogan Hall London, Liverpool Anglican and Metropolitan Cathedrals, St George’s Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Penryhn Castle, The Imperial War Museum, The Barbican, Southbank Centre and Cambridge University.

In her spare time Chloë is an official fundraiser for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, a charity close to her heart, and has recently been nominated as a Community Champion finalist in their Annual Star Awards 2017. Chloë is a keen advocate of music education and gives her time to perform and mentor young musicians attending the Liverpool Music Resonate Hub.

Chloë plays on a Haynes custom made 5% gold flute, with an N cut headjoint and a 14K lip plate and riser which was specially made for her and which she absolutely adores and in March 2016, following her competitive success, she was thrilled and very proud to be invited to become the first ever “Haynes Young Artist” by the William S. Haynes Co.
